Breezy Days Daisy Bag

2–3 minutes

My latest project is something I never thought I’d make, let alone love this much! I’ll start by saying that I haven’t always been the biggest fan of crochet bags. I’ve only made one in the past, but I never reached for it. Perhaps it’s because I’m getting older, new trends are coming into fashion, or my skills are growing, but I felt a real itch to crochet a bag for summer. I always appreciate a light-weight market bag that I can throw into my purse – and I do love a crochet project – so I knew what I had to do next.

I had been eyeing the daisy-inspired patterns from AllAboutAmi, run by Stephanie Jessica Lau, for a while. They are so beautiful, and she’s so generous to post her patterns for free on her blog. As soon as I saw the Breezy Days Daisy Bag pop up in my Instagram feed, I knew I had to make it. I ran out to Michaels and picked up supplies the very next day.

I made my version in a cream cotton yarn with an accent yellow and white blend. All my notes are on Ravelry, but I’ve pulled out the materials below:

The construction of this bag is very interesting. It’s made of 13 granny squares that are arranged in such a way that they create a beautiful shape at the top of the bag. The instructions are very thorough, and Stephanie also included a really helpful YouTube video in her blog. I referred to it several times during the make.

I ran out of cream yarn after one round of each inner handle, so I had to use the accent yarn. I actually love how it looks – sometimes accidents can work out for the better.

Overall, this is the perfect boho bag for summer errands. It’s also super on-trend and will have people asking where you got it. Isn’t it always fun to say, “I made it!”

Happy making,

Jackie

A little disclaimer: This blog is very small, so it almost goes without saying, but I am not affiliated with any brands mentioned in this post.
