Today, I’m trying something a bit different (for me) and sharing my plans for the month. I’ve been on a real knitting kick lately, so these are mostly knitting plans, but I do have one sewing idea thrown into the mix. If anything, I hope this post will keep me honest and stop me from casting on anything else!

Pattern: Rebel Soul Beanie
Designer: Veronika Lindberg
Material: Concept by Katia Cotton Merino in colour 138
Of all the patterns out there, I never thought I’d buy a beanie. I’ve constructed many without a pattern, but how many of them do I wear? None. I thought it was time to bite the bullet and buy a professional beanie pattern. I really love the crown shaping on this one by Veronika Lindberg, and I think it will look really lovely in this Cotton Merino yarn. I wish you could feel this yarn through the screen. It’s incredibly soft and gives off a beautiful halo – no mohair necessary. I hope I can pick up more of it in the future!

Pattern: Everyday Socks
Designer: Petite Knit
Material: Knitting Loft Boots Yarn in ‘A girl inspired’ and/or Rhichard Yarn in ‘Eau De Nil’
I went from never knitting socks to having a pair on the go at all times, so of course I have a few in my plans. I already have a pair in the works, but I’d love to dig into the two yarns listed above. With the bright splashes of pink and orange, the Knitting Loft Boots Yarn will look amazing on its own. I have a mini skein to add a little bit of excitement to the plain teal yarn.

Pattern: Novice Sweater Chunky Edition
Designer: Petite Knit
Material: Estelle Chunky in Q63305 (Black)
I purchased this yarn for a long-forgotten project, so I thought it was time to rescue it from my stash. Initially I thought I might try The Sorbet Sweater by Veronika Lindberg, but the black didn’t have enough contrast to show off the complex details. I think a plain sweater like this one will be perfect for dark yarn – not to mention ultra practical in my wardrobe. This project will be on my needles for a while, but I look forward to starting in February!

Pattern: Saturday Set
Designer: Friday Pattern Co.
Material: Robert Kaufman ‘London Calling’ Cotton Lawn in Sweet Floral
This one is a bit of a wild card. The Saturday Set has been popping up all over Instagram and I really want to make the top. I think this cotton lawn in my stash would be absolutely perfect, but I did purchase it for another project. Truthfully, I don’t know if I’ll have enough fabric. I also haven’t been as motivated to sew lately – probably because of the cold weather we’ve been having. I’ll try to put my doubts aside and at least get it cut out.
I think that’s enough to keep me busy! As always, I hope you found a bit of inspiration in this post.
Happy making,
Jackie
